It's all in the name

So I have decided that before I go on I need to find a name that I really want. I plan on moving over to a different host and creating something I really like as soon as I can, but I can't do that until I have a name. I am not sure where this blog will go yet, which does make things a bit hard. But I am enlisting the help of whoever reads this right now. A name that we have been tossing around is Under Our Dreaming Tree but I am not sure that is quite as all encompassing as I want. So please help! Ask questions and throw things out there. This blog will also be shaped by those who read it. It can lean any way with reviews, giveaways, guest bloggers, food, and supporting local businesses. I am torn because I love all of this! So let us start with a name........

Smart Mom Teething Bling Review

I am so excited to bring to you another review of a great product. Smart Mom Jewelry makes beautiful necklaces and bangles for moms that are also safe for baby to chew on and play with. Since I have young kids, I don't even bother to wear a whole lot of jewelry anymore because they get tugged on, chewed on and could potentially break. The great thing about Teething Bling is that it is made for babies to tug on and put in their mouth but it is also stylish and completely wearable for mom. There are no harsh chemicals and they don't have any tiny pieces that can be a choking hazard. Here is a quote from their site that shows their commitment to safety : "Our products are non-toxic, phthalate, BPA, PVC, latex and lead free and all pendants come with a breakaway clasp as an added safety measure."

I have been following Teething Bling on Facebook for some time now and have been itching to try out and review one of their products. I decided to email them and see if they would be willing to send a product for review even though I wasn't sure they would take a chance on my blog since it is new. That was not the case! I received an email back immediately from Amy herself, one of the two company founders, saying she would be sending a product right away. Already loving what I have been reading about Teething bling, this made me even more enthusiastic that they would be so willing to take a chance on me and my little blog AND she was so incredibly nice. Ok, now onto the review :) Here is what I received :

This one is the Lapis Lazuli Donut Shaped Pendant, which is one of their signature pendants. I love the color and the style. The pendant has a hard rubber feel to it like a teething toy but looks more like jewelry because of the beautiful color and the shiny look to it. Judah immediately loved it. He crawled right over and took it from me. He is chewing on it as we speak :) I honestly can not find anything wrong with this product and am excited to try their bangles. They have tons of colors to go with anything and different styles. They are also working on a line of sports colored pendants which I think is really fun.

Here is Judah with it for the first time. The pictures are from my phone so they aren't that good. When I went to grab my camera I realized it was out of batteries :( I want to take some better ones with Aaron's camera but for now these will have to do because Jonah (my 3 year old) thought it would be fun to hide the necklace.

Please go check them out, read their about page and share them with all new moms out there. These would make great baby shower gifts too.

Thank you Smart Moms for letting me review your product!

Infantino Comforting Play Collection

I got the opportunity to review Infantino's new Comforting Play Collection. I received my box full of goodies a few weeks ago and opened it up to find some pretty cool products. So far I love everything about them. There is something in there for any type of play, whether your baby is on the go, playing quietly in their crib, or hanging out on the floor. One of my favorites is the binky buddy, which is great if you have a baby that likes to lose their binky. I like that they made something for all of babies senses even including smell. I honestly can't seem to find anything I don't like. They are all reasonably priced, so you could put something together for an upcoming baby shower even if your on a budget. Below is my review of this new collection along with a couple ways you could put them in a basket as a gift.

If you want to find out more visit Infantino's blog.
And a thank you to Mom Central for this awesome opportunity :)

(I received the Comforting Play Collection from Infantino to facilitate my video.)

Finger painting with Jonah

I am horrible at doing super crafty things with Jonah. I don't know why but I rarely do painting or crafts with him. Then after a while of not doing anything I come across a cool idea or preschool style craft and think "that looks fun!" only to realize I don't have anything to do it with. So I usually seek out homemade versions, like play dough or in this case finger paints. So thanks to this amazing website that is my new love for homemade kid fun, I found a finger paints recipe. So easy!!

What is on my mind....

What is on my mind today? Potty training, my new love for Mumford and Sons, Jonahs birthday, and how to make time stop......

Lets just start with potty training. I HATE IT. Normally, I have a pretty sweet, laid back, and all around good kid. But we have been working on potty training since last Saturday and it has not been fun. Not one bit. Yesterday he just didn't want to do it, so he wet himself multiple times. Then today, after being so tired of staying home, I decide we need to go to the library and the park. I put him in a pull up and off we go. I was totally thinking he would go in the pull up as soon as we left the house, but he didn't! He sought out every bathroom he could while we were out and stayed dry until we got home. Now I see why some people choose to let their kids go naked outside, free to pee wherever :) It is just so confusing with him, is he into it or is he not. We shall see what tomorrow holds.

I love Mumford and Sons right now. That is all for that thought.

Jonahs birthday is on Monday and he will be 3.
This thought goes with the next thought, where has time gone? I can not believe my baby will be 3. I can not believe I just said "my baby".... I feel old. And while I am writing this my 4.5 month old is staring at me from his bouncer. Where did the last 4.5 months go? Time just keeps getting faster and faster, it is so incredibly scary to me. So how do we make time stop? Well fine... I know I can't make time stop but I do have some ideas I want to put into practice. First off, I want to remember to stop what I am doing, whatever it is, for my kids. Nothing is more important than making sure they know their mommy loves them and that they know they are greatly valued. For this second one I need to set it up a bit. Jonah has this book, I can't remember what it is called, but it is about all the lasts a child has. Like the last time they want to read books before bed, or the last time they want to be held.... I don't want to just let anything pass by me, I want to cherish all of their firsts and all of their lasts.

Alright this blog post is a jumbled mess, but I needed to get it all out there. I will get better at this I promise :)

P.S. First Mom Central review coming soon, waiting for my product to come!
